Google has recently published its annual Ad Safety Report, which shows the violations of Google’s advertising guidelines, and the results are extremely interesting. 🤔🔍
According to the search engine, a total of 3.1 billion ads were blocked or removed and a full 6.4 billion ads were restricted by Google. In addition, 1.3 billion publisher pages were removed. The background to these ad blocks is primarily Google’s goal to keep the spread of bad ads and inappropriate content as low as possible.🚫
It is also exciting that around 99 million of the blocked ads were Covid-related and 867 million ads were blocked due to cloaking attempts. Cloaking describes the search engine’s attempt to play a different content than the normal visitors. 💡
