A lot happened in the world in 2020, some of which you may not have even noticed. Therefore, we would like to look back with you at 4 of the biggest marketing software deals of the past year.
1. Slack is one of the tools emerging as a winner from the current situation, but it is a small player compared to Microsoft Teams. In 2020, Salesforce bought the tool for $28 billion, presumably to make Slack a tool for business-to-business communication.
2. Pipedrive, a SaaS tool that helps its customers keep track of their sales steps, was acquired by private equity firm Vista in November for a ten-figure sum (for the most part).
3. Klarna processes over one million transactions worldwide every day and has been worth around $10.65 billion since a $650 million financing round. One of the reasons for this is Klarna’s payment model, which is not very widespread in the USA.
4. Zoom is probably the biggest winner. While the share price was $60 at the beginning of 2020, it rose to $559. Although the share price is now only around $349, this still shows Zoom’s immense growth.
