On the internet, on social media, on TV, on the building across the street… It can already be found almost everywhere you look: advertising. Soon, a new advertising space could be added to the smartphone lockscreen. According to a source from TechCrunch, the company Glance is currently planning the launch of its “Lockscreen Platform” for Android users in the United States. But what is it and, above all, what is the point of it all?
📱 Glance offers its users the possibility to get personalised content directly on the lockscreen. According to t3n, this includes not only news, photos and games, but also advertising. If you think about how many times a day you look at your smartphone and how many “glances” you would come into contact with, this seems to be an interesting new opportunity for advertisers.
💡 By the way, the service is already installed on about 400 million smartphones on the Asian market. Whether, when and under what circumstances there will be a launch in Europe is not yet known.
💭 What is your opinion on the subject: Would you use the platform for your lockscreen?
