Is Black Friday really worth it?πŸ›οΈπŸ“‰

Black Friday isn’t until 28 November, but many retailers start their discounts at the beginning of November. If you wait until the day of the sale, you could easily miss out on some great deals ⏳πŸ”₯.

According to Idealo, 73% of products were cheaper on Black Friday 2024 than in the previous month – by an average of 7%. However, the best deals weren’t only available on the day itself: many categories had already dropped in price beforehand because retailers wanted to generate attention earlier πŸ“…βœ¨.

Televisions (–17%), e-bikes (–15%), vacuum cleaners (–15%) and headphones (–14%) were particularly heavily discounted πŸ“ΊπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ§ΉπŸŽ§ . Less attractive were smartphones, smartwatches and tablets, which were mostly only 5–6% cheaper πŸ“±βŒš. AirPods Pro 2 were also at the lower end of the scale at –5%.
Those who are flexible – for example, in terms of colours, storage or previous models – often find the better discounts 🎯. Example: The JBL Charge 4 was around 20% cheaper, while the newer Charge 5 was only 4% cheaper.

A common myth was also debunked βŒπŸ“ˆ: there are no systematic price increases before Black Friday. In fact, many prices fall from November onwards and reach their lowest point during Black Week.

Conclusion: there are good bargains to be had, but often earlier in the month. Those who keep an eye on prices and remain flexible will ultimately get the best deals.Β πŸ‘€πŸ’Έ
