Threads becomes a community platform🚀

Threads is significantly expanding its topic rooms: instead of around 100, there are now over 200 communities 🧵 – from K-Pop (e.g. BLACKPINK 🎶) to NBA teams such as the Lakers or Knicks 🏀. The aim is to deepen discussions and keep users on the platform for longer – very much in the style of Reddit.

More depth & better visibility 🔍
Communities can be found via search or blue tags, displayed in profiles and pinned to feeds. Posts can be made directly in communities, including their own like emoji 💙.

Community Champions & Flair ⭐
Active members are highlighted with the Community Champion badge 👑 – regardless of follower numbers. In addition, users can use Community Flair, e.g. “Author” in Book Threads 📚, to make their role visible.

Conclusion 🎯
Threads wants to move away from pure scrolling towards real conversations: more participation, familiar voices and clear topic spaces. This benefits creators 🤝, communities 💬 and, in the long term, brands too. 📢.
